Question Need Advice.. Sorta Long!

Okay so I got my pomeranian two years ago in April. I babied her and spent everyday with her non-stop i was in college and always had time to be with her. She was absolutely loyal to only me and only wanted to be around me. I joined the air force that June after i got her so i had to leave her at my parents house for three months... she was miserable she waited on the back of the couch for me to come home and slept on my bed. I came home for a month and it was back to me babying her again... But i had to leave because i was stationed and turkey and once again couldn't bring her. Now it has almost been a year since i have seen her. i am going home for another month and then in december i am bringing her with me to my next base. I have two questions. 1. Will she remember me? and 2. Should i take her with me? she is in a home that she has known longer than her time with me? I know she did think of me as hers and my parents definitely do not have enough time for her. i don't want to up root her if she will miss them though? SOrry this is so long I just wanted some advice ... She is like one of the things i love most in my life even though i am not around her so much. Any input would be much appreciated.

I think you should take her to be with you, if you can. I would be shocked - shocked - if she doesn't remember you, or doesn't want to be with you. You have an extremely loyal and loving little sweetie there. I bet if she could talk, she'd say that nothing matters as long as she can go where you go. You belong together.

Default Share your dog

I was in a similar situation with my oldest dog a while ago.

I will not tell you what to do, more share with you what I did.

My parents took my dog when I moved to another state until I could find somewhere that I could give her a home also. This took about 5 months, and was hard on me and my beloved dog. In that time she developed a relationship with my parents almost equal to the one she had with me. My father even allowed her on his bed, which in the 30 years I have known him he has never allowed.

So, selfishly I took her back with me after finding a home that we both could live in (Landlords suck, and this takes time). My parents missed her, and for a while she missed them. The following summer my parents asked to have her for a few months, as they missed her. When I agreed I was not sure how long I could be away from her, but seeing the way she acted when we got to their house, I knew she would be just as happy there as she was with me.

I was also in the AF, and depending on where you PCS to with your next assignment I would suggest if it is not too far of a trip home that if your parents love your dog like mine do mine that you share 'custody' with your parents so your dog can love you all.

Best of luck, and put your own feelings aside, and think what will make your dog and you both happy (Mostly the dog though).

Again, good luck to you.
