Default drop?

Hi,
What do you mean, your puppies drop when you put the leash on? I had the reverse problem with a hyper dog: he was fine til he saw the leash and got so excited it was hard to get the thing on him. We went to obedience training, and learned tons of wonderful ways to teach the dog how to behave! Lots of work but worth it. Are your puppies frightened by the leashes? The "Gentle-Lead" is a great tool for teaching a pup to heal on command- and once they master walking on a leash, they are such fun to take places. Just praise them when they do what you want, and work with them- they will learn quickly with clear, consistent training.

Default

I have been thru this with my Chi mix Behr. As soon as I would put the leash on him..he froze solid and didn't want to move. I tried everything it seemed...we had another dog that didn't mind the leash...so my husband took off with him to go walking, my Behr quickly followed behind..forgetting all about his leash fears...and I haven't had trouble since. My suggestion is to get a family member or friend to bring their dog over and walk he/she in front of your babies and when they see they get to go somewhere fun, they will follow. It worked for Behr anyways... Good luck.
