Default all of the sudden my dog wont go up the stairs

hi my dogs about six months and it started last night when i went to take her out before bed. she just sat at the stairs at the bottom of my apartment crying and my girlfriend eventually carried her up. today she sat there and i went down and grabbed her scruff and got her going than she ran up, got up here and was really excited/crying. i dont know what is going on and was just wondering if anyone has experienced this or knows why this might be happening. i checked her paws for cuts and the other stairs are no problem.

Default what does your puppy need?

Has your puppy been to the vet recently? She could have a cramp or something you can't see. I suggest not reacting much to her refusal to go up the steps- that will only confuse her because she's telling you something. The mystery is what? Is she fully housebroken or could she need a quick trip outside before going up? Can you establish going up as a fun thing with a reward like a cookie afterwards? If she still refuses, I'd get her checked to make sure her legs etc. are fine. I suggest this because our 4 year old Lab suddenly changed several regualr behaviors and when I had him checked, things were not ok...

If all that checks out, I'd coax her up, and as a last resort, ignore it. She will go up to be with her people, and eventually forget whatever was bothering her. We never know for sure what our dogs need- but can usually deal with it so that we and the dog are happy... good luck

Default P.S on the stairs mystery

I just saw where you said the other stairs are no problem! I bet something is frightening her on the stairs she avoids...she's still a baby and they are funny little creatures. Maybe til she's a little more mature, carry her up those stairs!
