My puppy screams and cries when I go to school!
Maybe someone can help me:
I have a five-month old male brindle pit bull named Ghost who is the biggest sweetie ever, but has a bit of an issue with being left home alone. He is crate trained, and has been okay in there until recently. When he sees or hears us open the door to leave, he begins to whine or bark. Sometimes if I just leave the room and he doesn't notice right away, as soon as he realizes he's alone he becomes very upset and frantically searches the house for me. Sometimes he pees himself even though he is housebroken and usually asks to be let out. When this happens, he acts very ashamed of his accident, so I really think its not to be a jerk, but because he's upset by being alone. We have never left him alone for more than three hours at a time and we make sure he goes out right before and right after his crate time. Why is he so afraid to be alone in there? I've read that he should have a toy and clean blanket of his own in the crate, and I've provided these. Besides, as long as my boyfriend or myself is home with him, he treats it like his doghouse and even hangs out in there to take naps. What's up with my pup?
