Default Dog eats other dogs' poop!

He's peke/something mix. Very short. His little head/mouth are low to the ground. He eats any and all poop he can get to . Obviously I try to keep him away from it but there's a lot of it on my block. Can't find an appropriate muzzle for him. sometimes I put a plastic/cone collar of a slightly larger size which makes it more difficult for him to scoop up the poop. But it's a daily problem. Any suggestions? Meat tenderizer and other stuff to put in his food won't solve it because he doesn't eat his own stuff. Can't wait to hear any ideas/solutions.

eating dog poop is bad... you should correct this behavior as much as you can.

Default yes, that's what I was saying. Ideas for correction would be helpful.

Yes. That's my point. He's short. His legs are about 6 inches long. His nose is about 2 inches from the ground. It's very difficult to correct the behavior when the dog's mouth is at poop level. His urge to eat is strong. Any corrective ideas other than yanking on his collar; using corrective words; I've done that for six months to no avail.

Gotta watch that. My dogs like to go for the rabbit crap. It is nasty as you can smell it on their breath. lol.

hi, i have heard that spraying vinegar on poop teaches the dog to stop eating it...i know it seems a bit absurd to carry a spray bottle of vinegar around with you...but if you can get to the poop before he goes to eat it, and give it a spray...that may break his habit then eventually he will lose interest in all poop. other people have said hot sauce as well...but i dont like that idea. that cant be good for the dog if he does get some in his mouth. good luck

nice advice... by the way... you should only spray your dog while he is doing the thing... so he'll know that its a big no no to eat poop.
