Post How to make 2 dogs get along well

My wife and I got us a new female toy poddle puppy 3 days ago. We already have a 11 month old yorkie female. We got her like 9 months ago and she has adapted herself very much to our lifestyle. The problem is, what we see is happening between the yorkie and the poodle. The yorkie does not want to have anything to do with our new poodle. She does not mind sharing all her toys and all her stuff although she sniffs the poodle once in a while and thats about it. But our new puppy is very active and likes to bite and chew on things, including our yorkie. And obviousily our yorkie does not like it. The breeder from whom we got the poodle told us that the poodle was with 5 other puppies and was the pack leader among them and they always play rough. Also we found that the poodle was not crate trained. We are just afraid both the puppies might not get along well. And we are not very pleased with how the poodle playes with our yorkie. We are afraid they might hurt each other. Is there anyway we can make them understand that they should get along well and not try to dominate and bite eachother?

Hello and congrats on the new baby! First things first, is the yorkie spayed? Being spayed eliminates natrual hormones that produce aggression by any female dog. Next, definately crate train the poodle. Not sure if your yorkie has been crate trained? Crate training can be the best thing you can do for any dog. Dogs are naturally den animals, they use it as a safe zone. Also another great thing to do with them both, is to regulary walk them outside on nuetral grounds, they will bond together more as a pack. Hope some or any of this helps. Good luck.
