I am so frustrated with my doggie that I'm about to put her up for sale because I just can't deal.

First off, I bought my doggie 2 years ago because I was told that poodles were a very intelligent breed. Yes, in some ways she is brilliant, but some days I feel like she is wearing her stupid hat.

I trained her to use her wee wee pad (or so I thought). In the evenings, she sleeps alone in a gated room. In a little puppy house I bought for her and I leave the doggie house door open so she can come in and out whenever she pleases to eat and/or pee/poop.

Naturally, in the mornings when I wake up, I want to spend time with her and so I let her run around the house and be with me. Some days, she is the perfect companion. Other days (like today) she decides to pee and poop in my office or on the couch... the other day she did it ON MY BED as I was getting ready to go to sleep.

We just moved into a new home with new carpets. You can see how this is becoming a problem. At night, she goes on her pad so why can't she do the same in the day time? SHE IS SMART and she knows when she has done something wrong because as soon as she pees on my couch, she RUNS for shelter in to her doggie house. So if she's smart enough to understand she did something wrong, why does she do it???

My children love the dog, and I love to take her on outings with me. She is so small, I can fit her in my purse. But I don't have much more patience for this. I need this to stop or I will have to give her away.

Okay, from what I understand, she is fine where she is confined.
Good.
When she is loose, she is not controlled. Bad.
You must watch her like a hawk, and make sure there is no time for her to do her bad stuff.
House training 101!
You can tether her to you when you are home, or make sure with gates, that she can't get to areas where she would go.
Start her understanding that she must only go where you let her go.

I see no schedule there. when you get up you want to play? why not take her out?

she needs to be fed twice a day so her bathroom needs are more predictable. then you take her out & walk her about 15 minutes after she has eaten. of course when you are feeding her at nite she has to go first thing in the am.

at her age this should easily be fixed, but you are going to have to put some effort into it.

I would suggest you to crate train her. I always feel the best way to train dog when dealing with the peeing and pooping will be crate train! As i tested out on 5 dogs and it works!

Let me share with you some tips during crate training.

I would suggest you to attract them by putting some toys in the crate which will ease their boredom and increase the capability of adapting. Give them or reward them with some treats which will be eye-catching to them! Reward them with their favorite treats. Remember, rewarding during dog training is very important as by rewarding your dogs will only feel attracting to follow your instructions.

Great advice from everyone but something I'd like to add....A lot of times when a dog pees or poops on the furniture especially the bed it's a sign of dominance....Your bed is your spot and she's trying to claim it as hers....She may not see you as the pack leader...You may need to establish yourself as such....Here's a few ways you can do that.

#1.Don't feed her before you feed yourself...The pack leader always eats first.

#2.Do not let her in or out of a door first...If she's aloud to do that she will see herself as being in charge.

I would also suggest getting into a puppy class with her so she can learn her basic obedience and you can further learn how to establish yourself as the leader.
