hey everyone,

my yellow lab pup is 4 months old and i just recently got him. today is the first day i bought a cage and put him into it. he really hates it because he cannot stop barking and crying to get out.
i understand that the previous owner didn't cage the puppy, so i guess this is a major change for him...
i put his blanket in the cage along with a chewing toy cause he's in the chewing stage....any advice?? what else can i do to make his transition an easy one ??

feed him in his crate. He needs to see that the crate is a good place. Do not use it to discipline him as that will send mixed signals. At night you can try covering him as this sometimes soothes the transition. Also, a piece of your old clothing that has your scent on it. This helps many times convey that though the cannot see you, if your scent is there you must be also.
