Default cures for digging holes and chewing EVERYTHING

I have a 1 year old beagle that we've had since birth. She uses an "invisible fence" collar that she's had since she was 6 weeks old. My problem with her is that she diggs holes EVERYWHERE and chews EVERYTHING that she can, including trees. How can I disapline her to stop this bad behavior, or are there any other methods of teaching her that this is not acceptable?

Usually dogs that exhibit that behavior are doing it out of boredom...Your breed is a very high energy dog that is bred to work...Any breed like that requires a lot of exsercise and mental stimulation...If they're not getting it they will find a way to release that energy and keep themselves busy.

We have found the same problem here with our herding breeds. If they don't have enough to do they will find something to do and we usually don't like the results. Get a busy ball or a buster cube. Put his breakfast kibble in it and let him work for his meal. It gives him something to do and mental stimulation to puzzle out the food for himself. I think you'll find that he will become a very happy and tired little pup after he has had all of his breakfast.
