I have a male Yorkie, who had Parvo when he was a puppy. He doesn't seem to have any problems from the Parvo, but every time he gets food, he does this strange "dance". He'll continously drag his nose on the floor toward the food. He does this for several minutes before he eats. It seems like he may be trying to throw dirt on the food, but I'm not really sure. I've never seen a dog do this before and haven't been able to find anything when I search. Any help would be appreciated.

Does the food smell bad?

Have you tried different foods and does he do it with all of them?

It doesn't sound harmful...just a bit weird. Probably has something to do with scent though...maybe he wants to reassure himself the food isn't contaminated (memories of all that puking?) Or maybe the food scent is just too strong for him and he wants to dull it with some carpet fluff before diving in.

Yeah try other food...
And observe if he will do the same thing...

one of my dog had parvo before but she seems to be normal...
