I need some URGENT Help!
My dog, has some really bad habits and I don't know how to break him out of it.
He likes to takes things and chew on it. this may seem normal but..
He will come into the house, when no-one is around, take items from tables and on the floor and take them in the front yard and chew on it. Not shoes, but smaller items like jewelry, decorative rocks, pencils, erasers, playstation 2 memory cards, paper, etc.
We never actually caught him taking the items from the house, we normally find the missing items in the yard or see him chewing on them, and even when we catch him sneaking out of the house with something in his mouth, he drops it and runs.
So we fixed it, we just keep him out of the house, now he goes outside the yard and brings back the world of garbage to chew on. Beer cans, bottles (plastic and glass), socks, paintbrushes and lately a dead bird in a plastic bag. I threw it away twice and he always bringing back the dead bird in the plastic bag in the yard.
He has chew toys and bones and we don't how to rectify this situation. Please help!
Keeping him in the yard, is not as easy, he already made a hole in the fence and he chews on the plants in the yard. So we just let him outside.
Any suggestions?

Hello..
Just try to give suggestion
I think when your dog taking the items from house, and you see him chewing it, you must give him a warning and say that he do wrong, like "Bad", "naughty", etc. Show your angry face on him. I think, he will know, that he should not do that.
But, be patient. You can not hope just give once warning, and then he change his bad habit.
Success to you

It sounds like he's bored...Are you taking him for walks during the day...If dogs don't get to use up their energy and don't get enough play time and interaction with their owners they will start using destructive behavior to to release that energy and bordem...I would make sure to take him for at least 2 half hour walks each day and make sure he's getting plenty of attention...Keeping him outside is only going to make the behavior worse....He will get increasingly bored and lonely and is going to find away to relieve that with behaviors like digging...Dogs don't do these things because their intentionally trying to be destructive...They do it because their bored, frustrated and need a way to release their energy.
