Question Sleeping In Crate!! Not Anymore!!!!! Help!!!!

My 4 Yr. Old Shih-tzu, Reo , Has Decided He Doesn't Want To Go To Sleep In His Crate Anymore. Until Just Last Week, I Never Had A Problem With Sleeping At Nite. We Have A Routine--first Go Ouitside To Do Our Stuff, Give A Small Little Knibble When Back In House, Tell Both My Shih Tzu's (one Is 5 Yr.)time To Go To Sleep!!!!!! Older Shih Tzu Still Follows Me And Walks Right Into His Crate. That's Exactly What Reo Used To Do --no Problem. That Is Until Last Week. Same Bedding They've Both Had For About 1 Year.

Tired Of Trying To Chase Him In The Right Direction.

Have you checked the bedding? Possibly there is something in there that the dog is objecting to? Try washing the bedding and the dog crate out and see if it helps...you may have to start crate training all over again, making it a positive experience. I had a Rotty who hated her crate, we finally let her sleep on her own bed in our room, and finally, after six months of torture (for us!) we were able to sleep! Good luck!

I gave up on trying to crate train my puppy.

He doesn't chew up random things he isn't suppose to when nobodys home, and he sleeps through the entire night, so now at night he sleeps on my bed, theres usually somebody always home though.

If this didnt work try leaving or luring them in with treats inside the crate...
