Default Corgi Puppy arriving in aggressive Corgi adult dog's home

My family has a 16 month old Pembroke Welsh Corgi (male) named Cosmo. We will introducing a Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy into the household in about a month, from the same breeder (same mom, differnet dad from Cos). How should we go about doing this?

Cosmo is a very intelligent dog. He loves people and is very affectionate. However, he is quite aggressive. He enjoys playing rough and has not be socialized around many other dogs other than meeting some on walks around the neighborhood. I am worried about how he will interact with the puppy. Cosmo is a very loved dog and on the most part well trained despite his aggression.

We would really like the two dogs to get along bc we love corgis and Cosmo would benefit from having a playmate.

Any advice?

Start socializing him now with other dogs...you have a month to get started. Start introducing him to friends who have dogs. When the new pup arrives, keep them separate for a while, and introduce them in a very controlled environment...both on leashes, and in a neutral setting...perhaps the park, or down the street from your house. If Cosmo has a "favorite human" in the family, make sure that his special person is holding HIS leash and not the new pups at introduction, that way, he doesn't see the pup as a threat to his position in the house right away. The best way is slowly...Cosmo is still a pup himself, really...and smaller dogs (puppies) don't usually seem to make the "resident dog" feel threatened as much...as long as you don't let him feel as though he is being left out or replaced. Make sure that his routine stays pretty much the same as it always has been during the transition. He will be the alpha dog in the house, just make sure that you and your family are the ALPHAS of the "pack". Make sure to protect the pup from any possible "hard playing" as it will be small and unable to protect itself much. As it grows, I don't think you will have many problems with them getting along, as long as you control things at the beginning.
