At this point, you don't really have time to effect the desired results before your company arrives (in which case, the advice Texas Ranger offered seems the best emergency stop-gap for now), but there is something you can do, long-range that will transform your dog. I saw Cesar address this exact same problem on his show once. This family could never have anyone over because they had an aggressive herding type dog. Cesar got a tennis racket and held it across his body. Then he knelt on one knee, torso straight and proud, in front of the dog's house (with the dog in it). He taught the family's friends to do the same when they arrived. He taught them to "take ownership" of the property they were coming to visit. It was really only a matter of hours, and the dog learned his place and backed off. This isn't all there was to it; there were some other important nuances I can't remember well enough to tell you here. But the point is, yes-- enlist some brave souls to help you "demand respect" from your dog so she can learn her place at the bottom of your "pack."
