Default Dog Behavior Problems

If you have a new puppy or dog, you should be aware of dog behavior problems that your new pet may have. Once you are aware of these dog behavior problems, you will be able to train your dog to behave better for a loving and dedicated pet.

If your new puppy bites or tears up your furniture, this is not the puppy’s fault. These are types of dog behavior problems that most puppies show signs of having and it’s up to you, the owner, to train your puppy to know what is acceptable and what is not. If you do not train your puppy properly, you will soon have a dog with these dog behavior problems that will not only be more difficult to train, but whose loving little nips become harmful bites.

Dogs that have not been spayed or neutered will also show signs of dog behavior problems when they are around dogs that may be in heat. By spaying or neutering your pet, you eliminate a lot of dog behavior problems associated with dogs in heat; these can include fighting, barking, whining and aggression related problems.

Aggression related dog behavior problems are ones that should be stopped from the moment a puppy is born. These include biting, jumping, barking uncontrollably and other things that are considered playful for a puppy. This type of puppy playfulness can turn into dog related behavior problems that are not only a danger to your dog, but that could also be a danger to your family and guests that visit you.

Biting (nipping), jumping, pulling clothing with the teeth and chasing objects can be playful habits, but any dog that is allowed to do these things without some form of control can quickly become uncontrollable. Once a dog ages from a puppy to an adult, it will become much harder to train. Training should start when the puppy is first born, so that these tendencies do not become dog behavior problems.

If you have an adult dog as your new pet, that has not received proper dog obedience training, then he probably shows signs of some dog behavior problems. This is no reason to despair: a lot of love and the proper dog obedience training will curb your new pet’s dog behavior problems. It will take more time and attention than it would have taken if he had been trained from a puppy, but it can be done. Patience is necessary when trying to train an adult dog how to behave.
