Default My Dog's fetish is driving us insane

Hi All,

First of all let me start by saying that I am new to this forum and have absolutley fallen in love with it already.

Can someone please help me with my dogs fetish. She is a 6 month old spoodle who has been spayed a few weeks ago who is the perfect dog apart from her fetish of having to poo on an object. We got her from a pet store when she was 4 months old and she was being a little bullied by the other dogs. We think her behaviour of pooing has stemed from the fact that she spent so long at a pet store and had no choice but to toilet where she slept.

We have another spoodle who is 8 months old and they get along fabulously and are best friends. The problem with our youngest "Khloe" is that she has to poo on something, either her bed, crate, toys, the garden hose, pot plant anything really apart from the deck, garden and toilet mats (typical).

She will not toilet in the house and understands that this is not exceptable (thanks to "Symba" - 8mth spoodle) however she will go outside on the above mentioned.

Does anyone know how we can train her not to do this? Or has anyone expereinced anything similar? We have never repremanded her for it and have tried training technique of teaching her the word "toilet" and that is how we trained her not to go indoors.

All help is apprecaited. We had to thrown out several beds because of not being bale to get the smell of her poo and wee out of it and would really like her to kick the habit.

Regards,
Forster01

Will she potty on leash? Would it be feasible to put her on leash when she has to go, so you can lead her to acceptible locations?

Otherwise, I suggest reacting the same way you would if you caught her going in the house-- of course, you have to catch her in the act of going on the undesirable objects. Eventually she should figure out that's not okay.

Thanks Mydogiscute. The problem is that we can rarely catch her doing it as she mostly does it when we are not there. When we do catch her we verbally let her know it's naughty but that doesn't seem to bother her.

Perhaps I Should try putting her on the lead and wait with her until she goes. It is worth a try. It actually makes a lot of sense.

Thanks for your input.
