I have an 8 month old male lab mix named Bufalo. About 4 days ago, he started chasing his shadow and barking at it. It goes on for hours every day. He is fully housetrained but since he started chasing his shadow, he has had 2accidents. My son started college the same day he started this. Can this have anything to do with the dog's strange behavior.

It's possible this behaviour is a result of your son no longer being home. Especially if he and Bufalo shared a close bond. So ensure that other household members are doing their part to provide Bufalo with enough physical and mental stimulation to avoid behaviours that are destructive or inducive to bad habits (ie. urinating inside the house). Bufalo is likely chasing his shadow out of restlessness and boredom. When he does this take initiative to put him on his leash and walk him outside for abit. This'll allow him to release some of that anxiety and give him an opportunity to go potty as well.

thats right agree with Mahana.. my dog also some strange things, all he need is more attention...
