Default Strange new behaviour

My dog has started a strange new behaviour. It started almost a week ago and has happened everyday (except one) since, so it's happened 6 times now. It's around the same time everyday usually between 5-7pm. He will ask to go outside and then refuses to come in. He goes a lays by our swing and won't get up. We pick him up and bring him in the house and once inside he acts extremely scared. He is very panicky, shakes, will try to jump in your arms (he's a 50 pound dog),follows us around and stares up at the celling and looks around like he following something. It lasts about 10 minutes and then he is fine.

Any ideas??

It sounds like you may have something like a raccoon in your roof/attic/ceiling. listen carefully to see if you can hear noises. I would check it out if you feel its safe, or hire someone to look.

what state do you live in?

Okay we've figured out that it is happening when we are cooking. If we don't cook it doesn't happen. We still have no idea why it has started and I'm hoping its going to stop as quickly as it started.

Default Biting dog behavior

You absolutely need to get some obedience training with this dog. Schedule a class as soon as possible. Right now she thinks she is in charge, and is protecting you, and the house, but she will be far less anxious and therefore less barky, once you get some training with her, and learn how to teach her "the rules."Dobermans are naturally protective, but they are also VERY intelligent and will respond to GOOD, properly done training. Don't try to do this yourself, get you and she enrolled in a good class somewhere, as soon as possible.Meanwhile, if there are going to be strange people over, take her for a long walk/run to tire her out ahead of time, and then keep her on a leash ad with YOU at all times.
