Default How much water should my Golden puppy get?

I am the nervous w owner of a 6-week old Golden Retriever. Right now, I am taking him out every 2-3 hours and giving him water when he comes inside, but not between 10pm and 6am. Sometimes he only drinks a few sips and then seems uninterested. I added some ice and that helped a little.

How much water should a puppy his age and size (10 pounds already!) get?

Thanks!

Hello, What happened to his mother that you got him at only 6 weeks, that is far to young. What are you feeding him? The best option is to talk with your vet about how to test if he is dehydrated (it is something that should be shown and not just told on the net). Happy to help, please feel free to ask any questions.

Thanks. We have a vet appointment next week, so I will talk to him then. I am wetting his food so he is also getting water that way. He seems happy and full of energy, I just wasn't sure if there was a standard amount he should be drinking.

You should ALWAYS add water to his food (it helps prevent Bloat which is fatal without imediate vet attention). There is no standard amount of water it varies from dog to dog. As long as he seems healthy, just check in with your vet to make sure all looks good.
