Unhappy My Corgi has ALD!!!

This obsessive compulsion to lick her skin is driving my family crazy!! Poor Abbie has a cone on her head more than not - but if we take it off she licks until infected. Any advise??

Default Licking problems

Take the dog to the vet to rule out medical causes. Once you've done that, try these.....

Get the dog more exercise, at least an hour a day on the leash. She may be bored and anxious due to inactivity.

Give the dog a safe place of her own. She may be an anxious dog who needs a crate or den.

Find a playmate for her. Dogs release stress by with play. You can play with her or find another dog that's interested in play dates.

Reduce the amount of time she spends alone, play with her more, and take her to dog training class to eliminate boredom, reduce stress and create structure in her life.

Good luck.

Silly Paws.
