Default Help!! Crate training still not working

Have a 10 month blk lab/ terrier mix named Bella who is a rescue dog. I have followed everyones advice regarding crate traing (making crate smaller) but she is still peeing in it! When we first made the crate smaller she did great for 3 weeks but than reverted back. We have her on a schedule and make sure to watch her water intake. I've had dogs and have never had a problem crate training them! This is going on 3 months now...losing my mind. By the way, where do I go to find my responses? New to this site.

You probably should consult a behaviorist who can come to the home and observe all the factors involved. There is no way we can tell what may be triggering the behavior.

I'm assuming you have had the dog checked for a UTI or other medical condition?

Some others might have some more effective methods, but the one I use most is to just "remember" which threads I've visited/participated in, and check those first. But also, if you just click on your username anywhere on the forum, a box will pop up with some options, including, "find other posts by [hookooke]." Click on that, then it will show a page with all the threads you have participated in-- click on the ones that interest you, and the browser will take you directly to it, and you will be able to see if anyone else has posted after you. I hope that helps. Some websites (I don't know if this one does or not) will have a feature that says something like "check responses to your posts." I haven't seen anything like that on this forum-- I could just not have been looking, though.

I was going to say the same thing Frecs.......make sure there is not UTI or other issue like hooded vulva or something.

Unfortunately your puppy has developed the habit of peeing in its crate - this can be tough to break...heres what I recommend you do:
Try to take her outside to pee more frequently. Praise and reward your dog when it pees outside.
