I found a stray/abandoned, possibly abused dog at a Park earlier this week.I have tried many times (2 hours a day) even with the help of the Animal Control but no luck. She is a very sweet dog just scared, shakes uncontrollably and never gets close enough for capture.

I have fed her every day, and provided fleece blankets but am afraid she will not make it if left out in the cold anymore since it's been very cold at night and she is an older, short hair (that equals trouble).

Any ideas on how to get her, trap her in some way or something else? I can almost hand feed her but she always moves away when a leash get's close. Animal control has a waiting list also for them to leave a trap. Maybe I can leave a crate or dog house to keep her warm? Really would love to save her but I've never dealt with a dog that never get's close enough to help. I may have to bring 4 friends and corner her perhaps since she hides behind the Tennis courts at this Park and after a week now she knows all the exit ways~

Anything would help, last resort is to canvas the area with flyers in hopes that the owner somehow is still looking and calls.

Check with rescue groups to see if they have traps and can help. Also, wildlife rescuers usually have traps, they might be willing to help.
