Exclamation Need some pointers on how to deal with a unique urination problem

Hello;
I have no where else to turn, I hope there might be someone here who can give us some advice or pointers about a urination problem we are having with our 10 month old dog...
My Wife and I recently purchased a Black Lab Weimaraner mix from a rescue group. She is a great dog except for one thing. When I try to put her leash on to take her outside she pees. She will pee on the couch, pee in the hallway, she will even pee standing up. I do not know why this happens. When my wife puts the leash on her she is fine. She will even hold her pee for 10 hours if needed but the minute I put the leash on her she just lets goes. It is hard not to put the leash on the dog because we live in a Condo and to take the dog outside to do her business she needs to have the leash put on. Neither my wife or I have ever hit the dog or even yelled at the dog but this peeing has to stop. I understand that sometimes a young dog will have "anxious" or excitement urination but when I put the leash on her she lets a lot of pee out. Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to get her to stop this peeing or even just reduce when it happens? I took her to the vet and there is nothing physically wrong with her. It is just hard for me because for almost three months whenever I come home or wake up in the morning. I have to clean-up all of this urine.. Any help would be great. Thank you

Sounds like submission urination. many dogs will do this if they are not comfortable with your approach. I'm not saying you are doing something wrong, just that she needs some socialization and good training. Hopefully she isn't just afraid of men.
Try approaching slowly and without looking her straight in t he eye. Sometimes approaching with your side facing her may help. Always have a snack ready and when she allows your approach without the urinating, give the snack. After that is accomplished, try it with the leash, but don't attempt to leash her until she is comfortable with it just in your hand. A nice positive reward should be offered for any accomplishment she makes. When she is comfortable with the leash in your hand, try attaching the leash and offering a treat for her reward. each time you leash her you need to give her some sort of positive reward but not always a treat. just saying Yes may do the trick. If you make headway and she reverts at any time, go back to the basics.
Good luck! It's worth the effort!
