Exclamation bad idea to get two puppies?

i have already gotten the two and i just read recently on the net that you shouldn't because of them getting closer to each other than you...they are brother and sister and i've noticed when i take them outside that they really don't listen to me just follow each other around. well the boy doesn't listen and runs away from me like its a game when i try to get him. the girl will occasionally listen. i want them both to be close AND listen to me. i'm thinking about giving one to my sister, but i really want them both!

Do both dogs get time alone with you for training and play? It's important that they each get 1 on 1 time with you to help with bonding.

Default Two is great

I got our second dog four weeks ago, and I am so glad I did. Suppose I was just very fortunate that they get on good together. But do take them out, occasionally just one at a time, and spend some alone time with each, that helps. Good luck

This has actually been a long running debate over getting siblings from the same litter as pets as to whether it is a good idea or not. In most cases, so long as they know who is in charge there is no issues. As prior noted, spending time with each separately is a must and working with both so they know you are the one in charge is a must. There is no real concrete proof one way or another as it depends on the circumstances and how they are raised and trained.
I should point out that I currently have a sister and brother Papillons in my house that are 13 weeks old. They play with each other and tussle with each other but even at this age I can sternly tell them NO and they understand and respond. The little girl is more inclined to want to be with me than the male so this could be the case with yours also as pups are different in one may bond more than another.

I think two puppies can distract each other and make training more difficult but if you really want to keep them both, make sure that you separate them during training sessions so that they will be trained to listen to you. Hope I was able to help

Keep them both but make sure you have time with each of them without the other. And they have each other to play with while your away so kepp them both and if you dont I know you will regret it!!!

I agree with most of the posts above. I think the main thing you need to ensure you do is spend 1 on 1 time with each of them to play and to train. Get the basic dog obedience commands working and then a lot of your problems will disappear.
