I have a four & a half year old male peka-pug... We did not get him neutered, because we do wish to get a female aswell.. not for the intent of breed-to-sell.. but just to raise pugs for ourselves.He does not hump normally.. very rarely actually but My male does the licking,frothing,chattering thing because he licks PEE so much that he will drool like "hooch" from the movies WHENEVER we go out for a walk.. its very embaressing... he looks like he has rabies..We have tried everything and are at a loss.. we don't know what to do. the vet says this is also because of a "buildup" of teststerone from not ever experiencing mating.. is this true? and what should i do??? HELP!!

Your vet is right. Your dog is probably licking/checking the urine for hormone messages. He's in heat or something. My doggie sometimes does it too, so don't get upset about it. It's quite normal.

I thought so.. but i was wondering if there was anything i could do to help... i have NOW been given the opinion that the vet can, "help" relieve his testosterone buildup... is this true? is this normal? and i don't even know if i would be comfortable ASKING let alone even know HOW to ask... :???:

i think it's normal.maybe, if you know the indication he want to do that, u can say NO with distinct and eye contact with him.sooner he will understand that u don't like what he do.
