We are in the process of adopting 2 Shih Tzu male puppies. They are brothers. We live in a condo with a back patio. I would like to know if it is possible to train the puppies to use a litter box when they need to go outside. I was thinking of placing it in corner at the back of the patio. I think it would be easier to do this. We also live in a very dry desert climate. It rarely rains here and most days are sunny. So, I think this could be a solution. Anyone have any suggestions?

This could be a possibility, but you're going to need to have a big enough box for them to walk around and turn around in. You'll need to take them right to the box when you go outside and tell them to potty there. When they do, be sure to give them lots of praise. A dog can be trained to go potty anywhere you tell them to.
