Aggressive Siberian Husky
We have an 8 month old Pure Breed Siberian Husky, Nahla, and she has recently begun showing aggressive and bizarre behavior towards myself and my husband. She actually bit me today and has growled at my husband. We can find no reason physically for her to behave like this. She has an indoor kennel that she sleeps in at night and today she has taken her toys into the kennel and won't come out. When we try to coax her out she gingerly comes to the door for the treats (used to coax her out), then immediately retreats inside and protects the toys as though they were babies. What is going on here? We need help/advise.

Maybe your dog gets her first heat or she is pregnant in pretence.
Reduce food! Don't let her in the kennel for the night. Feed her from hand and go to the vet.
Don't let her have the toys, pack everything away from her. So she has only you and your husband.
For sure her hormones are driving her crazy. But that is not funny. When she have had success in biting and growling at you, she will show this behaviour after this period of time.
Stay consequent and don't feel sorry for her, that does not help neither you nor your dog.

Aggressive Siberian Husky
Thank you GS. I did call the vet and they said the same...possible false pregnancy. Today she's acting more like herself; still not back to normal completely, but came out of the kennel on her own, and that is the only place we can keep her at night. We don't have a fenced yard, so we have to put her up for the night.
Thank you for your input. I do believe it is a hormonal problem. Am waiting to hear back from the Vet (called Friday and left a msg). "Sigh".

Well it is that time of year for my sons doggies: spaz wont leave mia alone at all, those signs and the little drops of blood on floor are sure signs. thank god i am able to seperate them into two different homes this time, cuz it really stunk last year having them both not fixed and under the same roof. Kid dont want to fix them in case he wants to breed them. Like we need more dogs running around.he just dont get it...

I'm sooo happy to hear that your mouse is feeling better
just for input to pretend a false pregnancy:
if you reduce food from the first day of the heat, step by step, until your dog is getting plus/minus 0 at the end of the heat you have a good chance to safe her from that, it ist round about 21 days.
If the heat is at the end you can build up the daily amount until you can give what she needs.

thanks..GS...I didn't know that about the food. Will try it...nope, never mind, decided we're going to get her spayed! Can't stand this. I feel so sorry for her. She's such a wonderful dog and I hate to see her all confused like this. Thanks!!! You've been a ton of help through this ordeal.
