Exclamation My Doxies are attacking each other! HELP!!

I have 2 mini dachshunds. mom/daughter. (Gracie/Abby) Loveable and do everything together. Recently after going outside to potty, Abby has come back into the house and glared at Gracie - growling and instigating an attack. Last night it was the worst it's ever gotten. I had to break them up twice. It was so out of the ordinary! it ws so bad that I had to kennel one seperately from the other. I have no idea what was wrong but even this morning they are still growling and cannot be left together. I have called 2 different vets (I live out in the country) and one had no idea at all. The other suggested Female Aggression and that I should have them spayed but couldn't confirm that would help them. I've had dogs all my life and I've never seen anything like this. Please help!!

sounds like female aggression and territorial issues. If they have not been spayed, this is somewhat of a common problem even in females. That and the fact that the daughter is of age now as it appears based on the problem. I would look at spaying them. I have had to do this in the past with some of mine and it did greatly curb the animosity. There seems to be more of a link with mothers and daughters than with 2 females not related.

When can this situation only take place?

When the dogs have too much left for them to defend!
Both dogs doesn't know who the boss is.
But who is the boss, the older or the younger one?

Wrong!

The human should be the boss in every situation, then there will be no fighting or attacking in the pack because the know nobody else but only the human has the responsibility to make desicions!

Default going into heat

Your doggies may be going into heat, my female is in heat and i had to send the male away till its over. Neither are fixed and it started alot of fights. Also my daughters female just went into heat. fortunetly for her the male is fixed so she just throws them out in the yard so they are good an exhausted by the time she brings them in. I think it is that time of the season.

doesn't matter if heat or not.
When the dog knows my human is alpha then nothing happens before, during or after the heat.

who can have pups in nature? Only alpha he and alpha she and nobody else even if a second wolfe would be in heat. Why are alpha she and the other wolfe in heat are not fighting? Because for both of them is made clear who has the privileg to have puppies.

Normally there is no need to make a difference between our houshold dog and the wolves about hierarchy thinking.
