Doberman acting strange
Hello,
My Warlock Doberman starting acting very strange last night.
He just got very restless, pacing the floor (all night long). He looks at us like something is wrong with his head down. He is an inside dog his favorite activity is laying on the couch watching tv. This is very unlike him and I am worried. Any suggestions?:confused

Could be a lot of things! For one thing--even if it isn't bloat now---Dobermans are prone to Bloat so wish you would study up on that--See thread I did in here on bloat. Go to top of page(s) in here and find blue strip across the page--Find the word search--click it--Put word bloat in the search box.
---If you aren't taking to vet right now---I would keep a very careful eye on him and look also for subtle changes that are out of character. Did he get into something poison or something that might be upsetting his stomach? How is the pee and poo ---any dif. color, smell, consistency--any blood in either!? You have to be a detective here!! But I sure would take him to vet if this continues. He isn't just bored is he---I doubt it, if he is holding his head down, prob. more to it than that! Has things changed in your reg. routine that might be upsetting him emotionally? I hope to God you don't have him on meds that are apt to kill him like Rimadyl or Proin??!! THe pacing makes me think of these meds! May want to read up on those 2 killers in here too!! Has he recently had shots--esp. rabies but any can cause problems--How long ago for his last shots---Some can cause problems even months down the road! Is he walking different--limping or hard to walk--in any pain do you think? Is he drinking enough water? How old is this dog!!?? Did you feel his body to see if he hurts anywhere when you touch him? Is he eating normally? Is his head tilted to one side --even just a little? Doesn't have an ear infection? Check out his ears--has no ticks ? Any redness or discharge? Has he been out in tall grass, etc----Been on a dif. route for his walk? Check bottom of his feet for cuts, anything (foxtails--a weed that can 'move' into the dog's system--Check ears for this too) The one thing you said--He looks at us like something is wrong--bothers me. He is trying to tell you something---mine did this after he had a rimadyl capsule. I would listen to your dog---If he isn't any better since you posted I would get him to the vet!!
PLEASE KEEP US POSTED ON HOW YOUR DOG IS DOING!!! WE TEND TO WORRY IF WE DON'T HEAR BACK! HOPE HE IS OKAY NOW AND WAS JUST A TUMMY ACHE!!
