I have a toy rat terrier who is 1 1/2. and I think hes gone nuts. He has done something today that I have never seen him do. Okay every morning I put him out in the yard so he can pee & poop. I actually have to pick him up and put him out. He won't go by himself. But once hes out in the yard he will pee & poop and hang out for a while then he barks to be let back inside. Well this morning I noticed that after a half an hour or so I never heard him bark to be let back inside. So... I went to check and see why.. And he was GONE!! The yard is fenced so he cant get out. But I he was not in the yard.. Which was really strange since the yard is fenced.. So my first thought was someone came in the yard and took him.:-xSo I walked around the neighborhood calling him..and nothing.. Well when I got back to the house I heard him barking..And I found where he had gone..He had dug a hole beside the porch and had crawled under the house..Oh he finally came out from his new hiding place..But what I want to know is..Why all of a sudden would he start doing something like this?

It sounds like he is bored---needs a job! Will he catch a frisbee? Keep throwing him one and he'll get a little exercise that way too. Do you take him for long walks? Terriers are noted for digging---You say you have a fenced yard, What kind and what is the space like directly under the fence!?
---I hope he isn't able to dig under it!! You might be surprised at how easy it would be for him to dig under a fence!! I think terriers are also noted for having a mind of their own---You may have your hands full!
