Hello!

I am desperately seeking help for me and my new adopted dog Luna. My family and I are so happy to have her and she is perfect in every way except one!

She wants to eat my two cats! I am having to keep them seperated but miss having my cats around the house like they used to be before we adopted Luna. She goes into a frenzy whenever she hears them meow or scratch at the door. A couple of times they got out and she went for them (luckily they were able to escape). I fear she must have "had" a cat before and has a taste for them.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You just may have to accept that your dog will never get along with the cats. My concern is that eventually, someone will get hurt.

cats are in nature food for dogs. They are potential prey and a dog will chase and maybe kill them when seen.

There is one difference, is Luna "just" chasing or do you know if she has had success in hunting?
If a dog had only once success in self catering you have no chance to train Luna the acceptance of your cats arround the house, but if she is "only" chasing, then you have a real good chance to make clear, that she has to accept the cats as your own.

I fear she must have "had" a cat before and has a taste for them.

Is that proven? Maybe you can ask the people where you got her from?
