No expert here by far but in back of my mind--Think somewhere I saw where there could be incontinence from spaying--esp. so young! Searched the net. Thought I'd paste here the links I found on this. This 1st link ---check out esp. the paragraph titled Other Health Considerations (and please ignore the word ATHLETE that is the title of this whole article as this article pertains to all dogs!)
Canine Sports Productions: Early Spay-Neuter Considerations for the Canine Athlete
Here are some comments made on another forum (I am just the messenger!!---Make your own conclusions. This question you asked may not have anything to do with the spaying but it is the 1st thing that popped into my mind. Another thing--Your pup may not be quite old enough to have complete urinary control yet. And I hoped the vet didn't 'nip' the bladder as one person stated below:
A poster from other forum:
I wouldn’t spay her this early but yes please spay her before her first heat cycle. There is also some evidence that spaying too early (ie. 8 weeks old) can cause bladder control problems. I would wait till she is at least 4-5 months old. She will not go into heat at the earliest till 6 months.

Boys can be neutered when ‘marbles” are there. That’s about 3 months (sometimes sooner). Girls may need to wait longer. Because their “parts” are so close to the bladder at such a young age an inexperienced vet in early spays can cause an incontinent problem by knicking the bladder. An experienced vet in early spays will usually not cause this but it is always a risk.

I agree with smitte21; you don’t have to wait until her first cycle but you don’t want to do it too early because of bladder damage. We asked our vet and he said 4-5 months old.
Maybe she is also just 'marking' territory??
I'm sure there will be more answers from other members here who have more knowledge on this kind of behavior as some are more professional than I am!!
