How old is the puppy and, what are you feeding him?

What an awful worry for you. Has the vet given you any other instructions? Has he told you what your puppy should be eating? How old is your pup? Before 8/9 weeks he should not have been removed from his mother. If he is very young he will need special care, perhaps feeding with a bottle or special food.
If he isn't keen to drink you can mix a teaspoon of honey into his water then encourage him to lick it off your fingers - sometimes that is enough to spark the pup's interest in food and drink again.
But the vet should have given you information on feeding him.

I agree 100%. The vet should have offered some helpful options.

Most vets would offer some suggestions. Try warming up some Swanson chicken broth and see if you can get him drink that. it will get something in his belly. Try and see if he will lick some peanut butter off of a spoon or give him a small can of tuna to try.

if this is a yojng puppy ie: 6 to 9 weeks, blend some puppy chow in a blender with goats milk. Heat it up and give this to him. He sounds like he is too young and was not fully weaned off his mother or litter. Goats milk is the closest thing to the dams natural milk. Good luck.

what do you guys think about the puppy mile imitation formula they sell at pet stores as opposed to goat milk?

I dont think you will find it comes close. The primary reason why so many formulas is the goats milk is not readily available in many areas. But in the end, there is nothing closer to the dams natural milk than goats milk and I can guarantee, my pups on the whole are much healthier than the average when I use it. I have done so for many years and it has proven the best overall when it comes to weaning off the dam and keeping the nutrition level high with regards to helping bolster the immune system as well as protein and natural fats the pups need.
