Thank you Todd and Cigwyllt. I am usually shy about my English but to help my dogs I'd do anything.

I have called the behaviourist. She sounds great so far. She is a Dutch who has been living in Thailand for awhile. She has started a foundation aiming to help with problems about dog behaviours that are mostly ignored in Thailand.

My last option, I think, would be to divide my house into two zones and seperate them. Luckily I live in the rural with plenty of space to accomodate them seperately. I will still need advise on how to do that properly though. That would not be so bad but I'd still prefer if they can live together happily.

Thank you so much for your comments. I will let you know how it goes after the sessions.

Don't feel bad about using english. Your english is excellent! There isn't any mistakes at all!

Youme Webark - if only half the people in the UK would use written English as good as yours! You really do put us to shame. So glad you feel positive about the behaviourist - I really hope she is able to provide you with the answers and with a structure to move forward.

Todd - I've heard of Ohio obviously although my trips to the States have only been to New Hampshire and Tennessee. I love the USA./

Default Fighting Sisters......

This is always a troubling situation. Just last Monday, our two beloved full-blooded American Bulldogs had an awful, almost, fight to the death. They are sisters from different litters, one is 18 months and 90 pounds and the other is 30 months, but only 72 pounds. The younger one started challenging her older sister for dominance about 4 months ago. Neither would "submit" and we had to break up some fights. Both vet and trainer said that we had two female alphas and that we really needed to re-home one because the potential for serious injury was great...to the dogs or to anyone trying to break them apart, due to their very large size and muscular physique. Due to the fact that both were Alpha, we were told the fights would only get worse and they would fight to the death if one didn't submit. Long story short....the big fight broke out over their morning feeding exactly one week ago and the older one has been in the hospital since. Because she is smaller she was taken down and suffered severe muscular injuries to both shoulders, her chest, and both legs requiring surgery and the insertion of tubes. The younger one suffered lacerations and puncture wounds to her chest, face, head and injury to her eye. We learned the hard way and it really is heartbreaking. They are both gentle giants within the family structure...we have 4 kids under 10 and they are just big teddy-bears...big "english bulldog" jowl-y faces with protruding jaws, but lean, tall, muscular bodies. We got them each when they were 12 weeks old. We have been lucky to have the bulldog rescue league assist us. We take our younger baby to her foster home today. We still won't be able to pick up her older sister until tomorrow. Please....listen to your vet and trainers...if they suggest re-homing...as hard as it is...please follow through. If I had listened when I was informed about Alpha Dog behavior back in March we could have avoided the trauma of witnessing our babies attempting to "fight to the death". I hope this has been helpful and that you find a good solution to your troubles.

Default Dogs fighting with each other

We are having the same problem with our two puppies almost 9 months and fighting with each other and are sisters. They started this about the last month or two. My son and husband got bit twice while trying to break them up. Any ideas if spaying them would help or will they stop.

I don't know if my case is any similar to yours but I tell you how my girls went anyway just in case it helps =)

My girls are spayed before their first cycle. Now they are three.

The day right after my last post I took by dogs to see a behaviorist and started basic obedience course using clicker. I had to drive three hours twice a week to see the trainer (that is the closest one to my house using positive reinforcement method) but I think it's worth it. From then until now there has only been one altercation and I think it was because there were some changes in the house as my brother came to stay with us for a week. After my brother left there weren't any altercation and has been for more than a month already.
