neutering can sometimes effect the temperament of a dog and will take awhile to become adjusted. I would not panic just yet. Coax him with a treat or a favorite toy, something to distract him when trying to get him away from the house. He just needs to be reassured again with regards to walks that it is ok.
You could try also making the walks initially short and maybe 2 or 3 times a day working up to longer walks. Each time knowing that he is eventually heading home will again reassure him. Good luck.

Default Thanks!

Thanks! Yikes my little nephew deleted my post! I will try your suggestions yogi.

A quick summary of my post: I have a dog that used to love walks, however since he was neutered, he has decided that he doesn't want to walk away from the house. He will always walk towards the house and run Around inside just fine. Anyhow, sorry about my nephew and thanks for the advice yogi.

At this point his behavior around the house does not surprise me. It is a security thing and by coaxing him further each day he will slowly reclaim the walks as a good thing.

I agree with Yogi.

Also, after fixing a dog he or she can loose the urge to go out and find a mate, therefore insecurity about leaving the house may make itself present. As Yogi said, coax him with toys and treats plus plenty of positive reinforcement. Don't go all out in one day. Introduce him to the outside world gradually. Try and make every trip outside the house a positive experience for the dog when at all possible so he associates going out with positivity. Take him around other friendly dogs and people who will give him plenty of positive attention. A dog park may be a good place to gradually work in to. Even if you have to hand set up situation at first do so! Grab a friend and have him or her wait at a location and once you make it to them have them give your dog plenty of praise and treats. Day by day have that helpful person or people go further and further away so the dog walk further and further with positive anticipation! Good luck!
