Question preventing my dog from going under the bed.

Does anyone know of something i can do to prevent my dog from going under the bed? Shes ripping apart the bottom of my box spring plus sometimes she throws up under there and it is very hard for me to get to it, because she always seems to do that in the middle. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Only thing I can think of off hand---Try spraying some Bitter Apple or other taste/scent under the bed she may not like. Can you close the door to the bedroom or put up a gate to the doorway?

I heard of the bitter spray wasnt sure if anyone had tried it and had success with it. As far as putting up a gate that wont really work bc she sleeps in our bedroom with us. She has her own bed and for the most part she stays in it. Its just the first 15 minutes when we go to bed when shes under the bed and then she lays in her bed and sleeps through the night, no problems. I suppose i could put her bed in a crate but i really dont want to do that. I only use her crate if i have to and prefer her not to ever be in it longer than about 3 hours at the max. I will try the bitter spray and hopefully that will work. Thanks for ur suggestion!

The bitter spray can definitely work for you. Otherwise I'm not sure what else you could do without blocking her off from the room or somehow barracading the bed. but that would be difficult!

Yay im really hoping it works! I mean like i said its only a problem right when we go to bed but she takes things under there with her and is tearing the bottom of the bed and sometimes throws up, shes got a sensitive stomach... so its more of just a hassle bc i cant reach the stuff to get it out sometimes. So im keeping my fingers crossed!! Thanks!!!

When Bailey was a puppy, she had a habit of crawling under the bed and getting stuck. Then, she would scream bloody murder and we'd have to run into the bedroom, have one person pick up the queen sized bed while the other one hauled Bailey out. We got some boards cut to fit around the bed. Problem solved.
