HELP!! burst of agression
I have a female boxer, just turned a year old. We have had her since she was 7 weeks old and have had no aggresion problems until about a month ago. Every once in awhile she will attack our peekenese, (male 5 years old). It has nothing to do with food, he can just be walking by her and all the sudden she jumps on him! Any other time, they (the boxer and peekenese) play nicely together. Running around, We also have a 9 week old pup(female), that she has not left alone. She is nice to her, just wants to lick the pups face and be beside her every step the puppy takes. Its such a contrast i don't know what to do. One minute the boxer is the most loving little girl \and the next minute she could be so aggressive. Please help. Any suggestions are welcome except for someone telling me to put her to sleep b/c i don't acknowledge that as an answer. She is aggressive maybe 5 percent of the time and i don't see putting her down for such little behavior problems!! She is such a sweet girl, never aggressive toward anyone but the peekense and even then, plays and loves on him too. so confused!

He probaly thinks he's the boss. You need to let him that YOU are the boss. He's showing his dominance over your other dog. He needs to be placed at the bottom of the pack so the behavior stops.

Every reaction of a dog needs a stimulus.
When did your boxer start the attacks? Before you had the puppy or did it maybe start with the moving in/introduction of the littlan?
It is important not to let the dogs play around. Sounds hard but as long as your dogs can make things clear among themselves, and that is what they do during playing time, the attacks won't stop. So give it a try and split it every time they want to "play".
Additionally you can train important things from the first aid thread:
Anti-control programme
good luck

What do you mean by attacks. Jumps on another dog is not actually an attack. An attack is something very loud, hackles up and very hard ot break up.
All dogs will establish dominance between each other for pack positions. As long as the dog respects you as the leader, they have to also have a structure with the other dogs and the may challenge each other at times to do so.
We really need more details on the exact behavior to understand whether it is just dominance within the dog pack or actually aggression.

Dominance games
Dogs are pack animals. Left to their own devices, they establish a clear hierarchy amongst themselves in the pack. The pecking order is an ever-changing thing. Dogs constantly try to make their way up the ladder to become top dog.
The cute little ear tugging and wrestling games that puppies play are practice for the later more serious challenges.
At one year old you are beginning to see more serious assertions of dominance. Thats OK with other dogs in the family(just so long as injuries dont occur), but be sure that YOU are always the undisputed top dog. Failing this could result in your dog challenging you for Dominance. This is rare, but can happen if the dog is given everything they want when they want it and are given complete freedom in the home.
