whoa is me
I put my Italina Greyhound outside a hundred times a day and he still waits to come inside and go to the bathroom. He also get up 3 or 4 times at night to go pee an poop, even thought there is no food or water after 8pm, what am I doing wrong?

Make him stay out until he goes, even if it takes all day. Just grab a chair and a book and wait for him to go. When he does, gives lots of praise and treats galore. If you have things to do and have a securely fenced in yard, leave him out. If you don't have a fenced in yard, tie him to a tree or too the porch or buy a stake to stake to stake him out. Check every 20 minutes or so to see if he did his business outside.

You have to treat him as you would a new puppy. Restrict the area of the house so that he can only be where you are. If you can't supervise him while you are making the beds or whatever then leave him in the smallest area possible. I wouldn't leave him outside at all. If he goes when you are not around you are unable to praise and reward him. If you are able to put a couple of days aside to concentrate on house training him that would be brilliant and Lunar's suggestion of sitting outside all day would be perfect.
If the weather isn't suitable then you will have to stick to a very strict routine. Take him outside as soon as you get up in the morning and stay with him. Make yourself as boring as possible until he goes to the toilet. If you see him go then make the biggest fuss and act like he is the cleverest dog in the universe.
Back indoors keep him close to you under your supervision ALL the time. Watch him like a hawk and if his behaviour changes - he starts to sniff the floor or scratch the ground - take him outside again. Make sure he goes out after every meal, after every nap, don't let him go for more than an hour without a toilet break.
If you take him outside and after 10 mins he hasn't done anything then bring him back in and take him back out after half an hour. Still nothing then take him out after 15 mins, then 5 then stay out with him for as long as it takes.
Alongside this you need to be cleaning any area where he has been in the house very thoroughly to remove all trace of odour.

How old is your dog?
You say he wakes you to go potty so I assume he's crate trained. So the only thing I'd add to the others suggestions is if you can't keep an eye on him (and are missing catching him while in the act indoors) crate him when your busy. With my puppy, I kind of like having the opportunity of catching the mishaps in the act so that I can correct her. It's the ones I miss that I feel we go 2 steps back on.
