Husky doesn't want to play
I have the laziest Husky on the planet, a real couch potato. I know that is rare in this breed but she's a mix with about 1/4 Chow. I don't think that explains her laziness; she's just special. She only has interest in toys that are furry, animal shaped, and make some type of noise. Very picky. But, on top of that once they don't have the "new store scent" anymore she is over them. I was thinking about buying some scents they use for training hunting dogs to put on her toys occasionally considering: she LOVES hunting/sniffing/chasing small animals and likes toys that have been chewed on by other dogs. I won't be training her to do any animal hunting though. Does anyone think using hunting dog scents could be a problem? I thought it might make her more prone to chasing animals... but she already is SO prey driven it's not like we'd EVER let her off a leash.
Thoughts on this or other ideas to get reluctant dogs to play are welcomed!
