Unhappy Agressive Young Weiner Dogs with Oldest one

SEVERAL times in the past and 3 times in the recent past, our two youngest female 4 yr old sister dachshunds (everyone has been spayed) start looking sideways or something happens so that they both are viciously attacking our oldest female ALPHA dachshund..she is 11 and moves slow. They get her on the ground and have broken skin pulling on both ears one at each side, or biting her on the neck and leg where puncture wounds happen to her. I seem to be able to come to her rescue but can hardley get the 2 young ones to stop and only with force and pulling away. I have gotten bitten in the process too trying to get in the middle of it.

Then an hour later they all love each other and are laying together in the one big dog bed and doing just fine. They all sleep together in a big crate at night and again all is well...

Its like a confrontation happens or something and I dont know how to stop this.

And, we have a 4th female who is nine and the biggest of the mini doxies and she is never rarely involved at all and no one bites her.

The two older ones grew up totally together from pups and the two younger sisters we got as 8 week olds too and they have all four been together their whole lives.

The smallest of the young sisters seems to think she is the new alpha I think and her and her sister are really making me crazy with this as otherwise they are all sweet and loving and snuggly.. all of them, and they eat together and go outside together, etc.

Let me know if you have ever seen this. I dont want to break them all up but I dont want to see the oldest dog eventually killed by the wounds.

My only experience is with Jack Russells but sadly it is not good. I have heard so many sad stories where bitches will take it into their heads that they are no longer friends and can fight to the death. Your oldest dog will be losing status in the eyes of the two younger ones. It is natural that as younger, fitter dogs they will be trying to take her place as top dog. I don't know what to suggest but please be on your guard.
