I allow my dogs on bed but not when I am sleeping. There just isn't room for all of us.

I'm sure I'm in the minority here but my dogs aren't even allowed on my couches.
I know..I'm cruel.

Get them thier own couch. Our dogs have their own couch. They aren't allowed on the rest of the furniature in the living room except their own couch.

My dog is really spoiled--He owns the couch and the coffee table! But I only recently allowed him access to the bedroom. He has not been in the bedroom for eleven yrs. of his life---Tried him on the bed, stayed for a while but jumped down and laid in the bedroom doorway instead--too hot I think and not use to it. Going to add one of his many beds (3 right now--was 5!) to the bedroom this winter when I get a place cleared for it! Don't know if he will end up on my bed or not--bed is a little high for him and I don't think I will get 'doggie stairs' either--but you never know!

Tiffany sleeps in my bed most of the time. It's not enough for her to just sleep on the bed...she has to sleep on a pillow too. She's little though, so she doesn't take up much room.

Now that would be a good reason not to let your dog on the furniature. Get him crib matress. They can be wiped down really easy.

We all sleep on the bed including the cat. They are welcome to sit/sleep on the furniture but, I draw the line at the coffee table. The cat sneaks up there every time she thinks I'm not paying attention.

My dog has her own bed that is right beside me.. she starts in my bed and she lays with me for about an hour then she goes into her bed and around 7am she gets back into our bed and lays with us till its time to get up. Shes a cuddle bug so its pretty funny what she does.. i am a side sleeper so my ella comes up and puts her head under my one arm adn wiggles herself up so that im holding her while she sleeps and her head has to be on my pillow. its so cute!!

I love having my dog on the bed. She's a pug, so shedding is a bit of a problem. She sleeps at the feet and even though I try to get her to cuddle in between me and my bf, she just loves being at the foot of the bed. Some nights I'll grab her and she'll let me hold her while I snooze, but not often. Unless she starts showing defiance, then she's welcome on the bed and couches. If we say off, she's off. We also put her doggy bed on our bed so she can have her own space.

Haha my dog wakes me up like it's her duty in the morning at the same time. It's funny because she is so relentless. I used to think it was just because she had to be let out, but she's even done it after someone else has taken her to potty. She wants me to be awake.

My dogs like laying in bed with me. But when it's time to sleep, I put them off the bed. It's not very pleasent waking up to a saint bernard that wants to lay on top of you.

Dessa sleeps in the bed with us during the day but at night she likes to be in her crate (actually even during the day she likes to be in her crate). Once she is housebroken she will be allowed to sleep wherever she wants, although she is a bed hog...even now at only 15lbs. I'm dreding when she gets bigger. But I don't really mind. I think a dogs place is cuddled up right next to me.
