Default Please Help! Glass Door Agression!?

Hey everyone! I rescued a pitbull mix about 4 months ago. He is wonderful & I am inlove! He behaves, he's sweet and loving, gentle and obedient... He has never snapped or bit any one. He has been neutered & has all his shots...

The only time he is aggressive is through our sliding glass doors. If you stand up to it he attacks you through the door, barks and growls and looks like he wants to eat you!!!

My father is threatening to get rid of him b/c he thinks that the dog could turn or be aggressive. But he rly is a mushy love puddle and only gets nasty THROUGH THE GLASS DOOR!

Has anyone heard of this, or know why he does this? Could it be his vision? Please help!

Could he be mad at his own reflection in the glass?

Smile Welcome to the forum!

Luna's answer is a good one. If that isn't it---I got this info off the net: Rocky - 3 year, neutered, male, white Boxer
Presenting Problem: Aggression/Lunging at Door/Windows

Owners Reason for Call: Dog lunges at window hitting the glass when people approach the front door. Dog is hyper with the youngest son who is eight years old. A pool is being put in and the dog is aggressive at the back door if the workmen are present. The dog has never bitten.

Household: Husband, wife and two teenage children.

1st Session: Entire family is present. Very friendly adult dog. Coat appears diminished/dull/hair loss. Dog jumps up and is a bit pushy for attention and, if ignored, will go to another family member. Owners are concerned the dog is aggressive at the window and is now showing aggression when in the yard. Owners are taught how to get the dog to sit and stay for a hand signal. Dog is distracted, but is eager to learn. Trainer suggests they start making the dog earn attention and food rewards. To get the dog better mannered they are instructed to teach the dog to sit before going out, playing, eating, etc. Food change to a premium adult maintenance is recommended.

I also suggest you go to the blue strip across the front of the page(s) in this forum--look for the white word Search-click and put word aggression in the box--keep it on threads. There are a lot of threads listed about aggression--I checked but I don't have the time right now to go through them all. You may find some ideas in them to try! Good hunting! Also have you checked out the 'net?' Use words like: dogs/aggression and or dogs/glass door aggression. Actually your post is listed there!
