Default Dog got into a fight

Okay, so I was walking my pug and there was this dachshund we usually see when we go out. The other owner and I allowed our dogs to sniff each other, everything was fine until it was time to go. I said, "Come on Harley," and the other girl said, "That's enough lets go." Then the other dog started barking and growling and attacked Harley. Harley jumped up and pawed at him, she didn't snap much, but I don't want to say she didn't bite at all. She stood firm as they walked away, but didn't bark or growl. She's socialized with other dogs, but this one just wasn't having her.

Now I'm worried this could change how she feels around other dogs. She wasn't the aggressor, but could this fight make her more defensive or even aggressive toward other dogs?

We took her to the dog park and she didn't seem to act different, but I couldn't help but worry the same thing would happen again.

If you don't stress her out by your nervousness then she should be fine. Dogs can bicker and go on like nothing. If later you notice a pattern then you would need to re-evaluate the dogs in question. Otherwise I wouldn't worry about it.

Red face

I think she was just defending herself and trying to show the other dog she wasn't scared. My dog is always hit and miss when we meet dogs and can react differently to the same dog each time we cross paths and he doesn't seem to remember how he reacted the last time! So I wouldn't worry about your dog displaying agression towards other dogs if it isn't in her every day nature.

She played nice with the other dogs today, and listened when I said it was time to leave. I agree with the not stress thing, thanks.
