Default My poor dogs become a nervous wreck!

Hi Everyone,
I wonder if anyone else has had this problem that we are now having,. Our dear dog of 14 years has become so nervous at sounds (mainly ones like alarms, high pitched phone rings, scraping of the fork on a plate). He is a jack russell/yorkie and the older he is getting the more nervous (to the point of shaking ) he is becoming. His eye sight is good along with everything else. He's always been timid but now we are to worried to move to quick in case we put him into a frenzy!!!
Is it just his age? We have had him from pup and yes he has been very spoilt. Thanks all x:-?

I would recommend a hearing test. It is not uncommon for dogs in their senior years to start going deaf. When this happens, generally the only noises they can pick up are high pitched tones which have more of a tendency to startle them.
