Also when she sleeps he will sit next to her and cry. Within the last week the male has been getting very strange with me and my wife. First off he has always been an extremely lovable fun dog but now he seems very cautious around us, not at the same time (like he takes sides) and will lock up and growl at me... Like I’m a stranger who doesn't belong in the home, with in about 5-10 minutes he will stop acting that way and will go back to normal. I am wondering if this behavior is because of the female and his sex drive towards her. The female is getting fixed next week and is wondering if doing so will help this situation out? If anyone could reply with advice or some knowledge on same I would appreciate it.
Thanks

This is most likely a territorial issue with the bitch and the his hormones kicking in because of her. Has he been neutered? If not, I recommend that he be, soon. At this point now that he has more of a clue, getting her spayed will not necessarily resolve the issue. He needs to be addressed also.
Good Luck.
