My DOG MAY BE SICK!
hi everyone. i have a 3 year old lhasa apso and his name is Brody. hes normally a very energetic loving and playfull. but for the last 2 days hes been very stiff, like he wont put his head down to sleep. he no longer will run around at all so he seems sick.he threw up yellow liquid bile yesterday but that only happened once. the only thing i could think of is that hes scared of the july 4th fireworks. also his left eye seems to be not be open all the way and he wont eat treats. SOMEONE HELP!!!

Fireworks could very well be the problem but did he have this problem last year with them?
Fireworks can leave a somewhat lasting fear in dogs and so long as they continue to go off the dog obviously is frightened to go to sleep and can become lethargic due to fear.
If this keeps up though for much longer I would schedule a vet appt to rule out any other issues.
Good Luck.

no he wasnt scared last year. even during the afternoon of july 4th he wasnt showing any of these symptoms.he was very scared and wanted to crawl under the bed and my legs. a few times during the week before july 4th he would randomly follow me everywhere like he was scared of something. then after july 4th and for the past couple days hes been acting this way. he seems troubled.

At this point as there is no apparent link to the fireworks I would recommend a vet check. Any time a dog goes through a change or displays abnormal behavior that a direct link cannot be shown to be apparent than there is something else going on and it needs to be addressed.

Stomach bile. This is due to not enough food or nervousness. Is the dog eating normally? If so than you can look at nervous stomach. This on occasion can also be caused by a parasite. Best that you just get the dog in for a vet health check up and explain to the vet the recent events so they can make a proper diagnosis to rule out any serious issues.
