couple of behavior problems - Chiweenie
Hi I have a 22 month old Chiweenie she is a sweet heart, lately I have been having a problem getting her to go for walks with me, if I walk forward she tries to go back to the apartment, she used to walk fine before we moved. How can I help her with this? Also was wondering if anyone else has a chiweenie and if there's LOVES to give a face bath including the mouth, Chloe will try to clean my mouth if I give her a chance, which I don't, but I don't understand the behavior.

What is a Chiweenie??? I don't think that is a real breed. Dogs like the taste of salt. The hands and mouth are a great place on humans to get that taste.

The face licking is nothing to do with her breeding - I'm guessing she's a mix breed anyway. As well as enjoying the taste of salt it is a leftover behaviour from puppyhood - the pups lick the dam's face and neck to encourage her to regurgitate food for them. The face licking carries on as a sign of submission.

A Chiweenie
A Chiweenie is a designer breed, she is a mix between a Chihuahua and a Daschund AKA Wiener dogs

I feel so bad for designer breeds. People only breed them for money. Most of them end up in shelters and get euthanized. Why can't people go to shelters and adopt? I don't even know why they call it designer breed? Anytime you mix two separate breeds, it's a mutt.

I am sorry you are offended but a chiweenie is NOT a breed. It takes years and years to create a breed, many years of consistent breeding with consistent results. Take the "labradoodle" for instance - although it is a recognised cross it is not a breed.
I have no problem with dogs with no pedigree whether you call them cross breeds, mutts or mongrels. I do have a problem with people selling cross breeds and calling them designer breeds.

A bit of advice, if you dont want people flaming you on forums, call your dog what it is, a Chi x Doxie. Not a breed, a mix (not that that's a bad thing, I love mutts, but I dont love people calling them breeds)
I have 2 Mini Dachshunds One is an obsessive licker. not just kisses, but she is obsessive about licking people's faces... it's horribly annoying. but I love her anyway LOL

You know, there are enough accidental breedings between dogs with owners too cheap or too irresponsible to spay/neuter. This whole "designer dog" business just burns me. People are breeding what are in reality mutts and conning gullible people into thinking they are purchasing some new and exotic breed of dog and charging those people a fortune. Shelters all over North America are filled to the point of overflowing with beautiful mixed breed dogs looking for homes.
I spent six months looking in every shelter that I could possibly get to for a small mixed breed puppy. Unfortunately, I was unable to find one and that is why I went to a reputable breeder to get my little shorty JRT who has been nothing but a joy for every day we have been lucky enough to share our lives.
These so called "designer dog breeders" are shysters who take in those who don't know any better.

First of all, I agree with everyone about these "designer breeds". They are popping up all over the place. I think it was cigwyllt that said it take years and years of selection and standards to be a breed.
Anyways, the orginal question was that mysticamami would like help with her dog not going out for a walk.
With all the new smells, sights and sounds of a new place, she may be feeling abit overwelmed.
How long as it been since you moved?
Stay calm, don't show her that there is anything to be nervous of. She will sense this from you. Take it slowy, lots of praise, treats as she starts to walk forward. It's a big scary world out there for some dogs, so she needs you to show her that all is safe in her life.
Take care and be gentle and patient.
