Default What in the world?

I had to kennel my dogs the night before last. It wasn't the first time, but since I have come home my younger male dog (6yrs old) keeps peeing on my females (9 yrs old) back when I let them out to potty. I've had them both since they were puppies. I don't know why he is doing this now. This is not making for a fun Thanksgiving holiday.

First thing, try and have a good Thanksgiving.

Are you sure that he is doing it on purpose?
I know with my male dogs they will try and cover up each other scent by peeing over the others pee.
Also my first 2 dogs were a male and female. When Islander (female) would go for a pee, (especially when out for walks), Mack would sometimes lift his leg to pee so soon after her that she would get some on her back.
It is kind of gross, but not uncommon. Maybe let them out seperately to pee?
She may have the scent of another dog from the kennel on her?
A good bath may be in order.
Hope this helps.

Happy Thanksgiving

Default Hmmm...

I suppose he might not be doing this on purpose, but it just seems odd that this is the first time it's ever happened and it has happened both times they've been out to potty since we came home. They were both given baths right before I picked them up. Needless to say, my female has had two more since she's been home. Not fun for me or her. Lol! It makes me wonder if he did this at the kennel too, just to mark her as his.

My male saint bernard (Buster) peed on my female saint barnard (Sammie) 1 time. Sammie was so mad at him, she fit his whole head in her mouth. He hasn't done it since. Keep am eye on your dogs when they go out. If one tries to pee on the other, blow an airhorn to scare the crap out of him.

are you using a new shampoo or something? If it's happening more than once and he's never done iot before he may be feeling insecure over something...possibly a new scent?...Your going to have to brainstorm this one more I think.

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"
