Hi, our 10 yr old shepherd mix used to love to go out. We have a dog door so they are free to come and go all day. About 2 weeks ago she started having accidents in the house. (mainly pooping). After getting a urine speciman we found she has a UTI and crystals. She is being treated with Baytril. But now she won't go out at all. She won't even go out with our other dog. It appears she is holding her pee a long time because when she has her accidents is a large amount. There has been nothing in the dog yard to scare her. Could it be that she has associated the infection with Peeing outside? If so, how can we get her back to being her happy outside loving self?

Take your dog out on a leash and retrain it to go outside. Keep on doing that. Take it out every two hours until it starts to go out again on it's own.
