Put him in the house when you mow. That would be a lot safer. Or build a small kennel outside. We have a place like that to put our dogs when we do yard work so the dogs stay out of the way and don't get hurt.

My mixed terrier will do that too. When Im home alone I put her in the house till Im done. When my husband is home one of us will mow and the other will leash the dog and train the dog in another part of the yard to sit, down, heel. The idea is to distract or interupe that kind of behavior and get the dog to focus on you. It takes time, and alot of ongoing time put into it. good luck my terrier is improving.

When we first got our female saint bernard she tried to attack our chain saw. I tackled her just before she got to it. I make sure she is int he house before we go any yard work with electric or gas appliances.

Put him in the house with treats. The old peanut butter in the Kong trick.
